Hi there to all,
today i finally received my vcds 908 cable (clone) and have been playing about with it.

Now one thing i would like to do is to turn off the service light and set the correct values for when next service is due in terms of ( distance and time ).

I have accessed the SRI function on vcds 908 and this is the log for my car:

VCDS Release 908.0: SRI Reset
Control Module Part Number: 4F0 910 930 A Labels: 4F0-910-xxx-17.lbl
Component:KOMBIINSTR. M73 H15 0660, Coding:2308443
Please select an operation

channel description unit current value new value
02 Service Reminder Status 1 ---
40 Mileage since Service miles x100 270 ---
41 Time since Service Days 967 ---
42 Min Mileage to Service miles x100 90 ---
43 Max Mileage to Service miles x100 187 ---
44 Max Time to Service Days 730 ---
45 Oil Quality 2 ---
47 Soot Quantity km x100 715 ---
48 Thermal Load km x100 258 ---
49 Min Time to Service Days 730 ---

does anyone know how to intepret these values and what should be
the appropriate values to put into the "new values" section?

so i would like to set something like,
1). turn off service light
2). place next service due in 10,000km
3). place time limit until next service

I have no idea how to interpret soot quantity level, or oil quality or thermal load

can you anyone give any tips?

thanks.

ok guys still no responses so far :(

but after thinking for an hour and studying the audi service schedule i have understood what all the values mean thanks to a nice post i found on gooogle from another forum.

so now i can be more specific on my question since i understand almost the whole process.

i have concluded that my car is on the audi longlife service program which basically means that the car tells me when to change my oil ( flexible intervals ).

in vcds sri reset function the option for me is: change for flexible intervals (miles) diesel.

this autofills most values for me which make sense.

the values which it does not autofill are:

soot quantity and thermal load

the above two values currently give me readings of 715 and 258 respectivaly.

so my question is?

WILL VCDS CHANGE THE ABOVE TWO VALUES TO 0 AND IF SO IS THAT WHAT IT HAS TO BE ONCE YOU CHANGE THE OIL?

THE TWO VALUES IN QUESTION ARE: SOOT QUANTITY AND THERMAL LOAD.

because once i change my oil (myself) i will perform the sri reset and want the car to accurately tell me when i have to change the oil again.

thanks guys.

so much and sorry for my long message.

never mind, figured it out.

people when using vcds just select

reset service interval

and then perform sri.
