Hello all,
I recently purchased an RNS-E with the VIM option for my A4 (still waiting on delivery). I'm looking to add a DVD player and maybe TV tuner. Will an aftermarket TV tuner work with the RNS-E or only the OEM TV tuner? Could anyone tell me if this system would be compatible with the RNS-E?

It should work, but you will need a multi-media interface that will convert the RCA outputs to the RNS-E multimedia/video input. I have a Blaupunkt DVD player/TV tuner, and it works with the RNS-E via a multi-media interface similar to the Dietz 1417.

Thanks but if I'm getting the VIM won't it come with the multimedia interface needed to connect this DVD/TV tuner?

No. VIM coding only allows the RNS-E to display the TV image while in motion. It has nothing to do with additional hardware.
