Hello guys,

I have a B6 S4 which has the concert head unit installed, but have bought an RNS-E Unit ready to fit.

I have a question regarding the Climate Control Unit :roll: .

My car has the heated seats, is it just a case of getting the narrower climate control panel with the heated seats functionality, or do I have to get EXACTLY the right part number?

I was told by someone that I had to be very careful with Climate as 90% of the cars electrics are integrated with this unit, and getting the wrong one would be at best a waste of money, and at worst damage the car :shock:

My Chassis number is 8H3 4K901419, and I was considering getting the following part number climate module 8E0 820 043 AL Would this work ok>?

You DO have to get EXACTLY the right version of the climate control panel.

It's safer, and cheaper if you buy the wrong one (quite likely), to modify your existing panel.

Do I need to Panic ?

I upgraded to a 2 DIN unit at the Weekend and I just pulled my existing A/C Contol unit and replaced it with the one I bought off ebay. It came from a 2004 A4 B6 & I have a 2005 A4 B6 Cab.

I have not noticed any problems as of yet, but I am now concerened, after reading the above posts.

Both units have the same part number, but with a different suffix, I have not go them to hand, but what sort of errors might I get if it's not the correct unit. I beleive the one I have just fitted has the same part number as the one above, it certainly ended in "AL".

There are two circuit boards inside the A/C Unit, will I need to swap both of them, or just the front or just the back one. :?:

I' modified' my panel during my install the other week with a junior hacksaw and some modeling files. Looks ok think. I was lucky enough to be able to make a template of the smaller panel from a loan car; worked a treat.
