has anyone fitted dvd player and rear screen

many people have added DVD players.. search around a bit and you will fine several posts..

i have not seen any posts on rear screens, but you should be able to simply "Y" the video from the DVD player to both the RNS-E and rear screen..

#1: Dam you for owning a RS6 Avant!!!!
#2: See my DVD player install pix in the glovebox of my C5 A6 avant via www.nsxjr.com (see the 84 slide pdf for RNS-D)
#3: It is usually recommended to add a video signal amplifier if you are adding screens in the headrests. I haven't done this....so that was just the research that I had read.
#4: Adding a dvd player to the glovebox is a lot of work...and you will have to cut out the rear of be box to get it to fit. If you can, see if you can fit in the rear boot area.
#5: I have the Dietz 1417 working with my RNS-E. I'll post pix of my 1417 install, amplified aftermarket antenna and Blaupunkt ME3 later in the month. Stay tuned....and watch this forum.

true it is best to install a video signal amplifier.. my friend split the signal and it works fine.. but it is a bit dimmer when he has both screens on.. if you added more than just 1 addition, you would probably need an amp for sure.. i noticed europarts.us has them..

i have been wondering if you installed the amplified TV antenna yet - was there much improvement??..

also, as long as i am typing - did you see my post on my ME3 freezing up??.. not sure if it is the unit or back-up DVDs??.. have you tried back-up DVDs??..

I have added a 9" 16:9 Roof Mount Flip down screen in my B6 A4. Works perfectly, i use a video amp to drive bith it and the RNS-E to keep the quality spot on. The install was pretty easy - as long as you don't mind dropping the headlining at one side. I also installed my DVD PLayer in the glovebox just next to my ch changer. To complete the install I custom fitted a 9v outlet and video input sockets into my rear armrest for my boy to connect games consoles etc..
