I was installing a phatbox CD cable and got the pins reversed on the radio terminal plug. Do you have to use a fancy tool to extract them? I saw a post that talked about a tool. Just wondering if there was another way.

A very small screw driver or a paper clip should do it as well...

ok, maybe I'll try the paper clip. How does the clip dis-engage?
Any idea how much the tool costs? I was lead to AST, but they don't show pricing. Guess I'll call them monday.

If you go to your dealer, they can order the Audi ones for about $40 each. Much cheaper than the other website that sells them!

I'm taking these back today and I'll ask him if he knows, or can get the actual part number.

I'll post the answer later today.

I always use the smallest screwdriver from a jewellers screwdriver set - a lot less than the official tools and never had a problem yet (been using this method for nearly 20 years).

I just went to the audi dealer and they didn't have it on parts record. Talked to a tech and he suggested the jeweler's bits.
