I'm trying to purchase a glove box cd changer to work w/ my navi-plus. I see on the Nav+ info site that, "Be careful on this. The version 8E0 057 111 (no revision letter) most North American Audi dealers will have WILL NOT WORK!"

The only units I can find have no revision letter.

Has anyone got a glovebox cd changer to work w/ Navi+? If so, what's the part #?

Yup...he's correct. See my install pix below.

Unfortunately, they are $500 from www.vagparts.com.....and they are hard to find on ebay.de....very rare.

Good luck!

PS: Just get a phatbox...and you'll never listen to another CD again..that's what I did. See my links to my article in audiworld.com

Teddy: Thanks for the reply. I looked at your posts. Looks like the parts cost ~$400 total for a phatbox install. Will the part #'s you reference work for the cd-based nav+ in an 02 A4? I see you have an A6 so I didn't know if the part #'s are different

Actually, you can get the pbox from www.clairparts.com for $170. You'll need a CD changer cable (not sure if your 2002 has one...I would check into it)...that will add $100 to it...and some additional installation time.

The part numbers are the same...with the exception of the mounting bracket. See www.myphatbox.com for some install pix...etc.

Also, you should note that the pbox and Nav+ (CD based) has a minor quirk..in that it has a 1 second pause every 15-20 minutes. I noticed this...and it didn't really bother me. Search for username Infinitycube for his solution....can contact him. Essentially, he can resolder a new chip inside the pbox...to correct this....but it's very labor intensive for him...etc..etc...so he has to charge folks for it. I think that is fair.

I would seriously consider the pbox. Maybe find a local audi person to give you a demo....the voice prompts are a great safe feature....and the OEM integration is HUGE!!

Good luck!
