Cool :p

Part numbers? Source for the harness? Which phone? Sorry for asking so many questions but that's definitely the next mod on my list...
I will get the info from him today and post it later. I know that his Audi dealer installed the unit so they used a factory harness.

How is it going with the part numbers?

I'm really interested in installing this module to my RNS-E....

Looks like it's not that easy to get the part numbers and other info. Unfortunately, because besides us here a lot A3 and B7 owners are just waiting for someone to come up with a retrofit...
Interesting discussion on AudiWorld: Factory OEM Bluetooth Retro-fitting...

If this is true there should be some BT prep in any new A3 or B7 and it should be possible to get the part numbers and/or TSB which describes the install. If only someone could step up and share these information
I found a post about TEL working in US A4 model, pairing with Razor V3 phone and SIM contacts displayed on the RNS-E. I contacted this guy and he is Audi specialist in dealership in Texas. What he said is "The 2006 do have Bluetooth as part of the Technology package". In the same time he said: "The TEL function on the 2005 does nothing. On the 2006 it does not show anything either. Everything is done through the Driver’s Information Display."

I'm going to find more answers...

Considering North American B7 can be ordered with the technology package with or without bluetooth, my guess is that It's probably retrofittable, since im sure Audi wouldnt have 2 completely differents RNS-E for north america
I'm almost 99% sure that it's possible to retrofit B7 Bluetooth into B6.
The only question is that BT need to be operable from steering wheel or not.

We need to remember that B7 is equipped with BT button regardless if system is present or not.
Seems like it could still be activated from the RNS-E. It would see that bot car equipped with BT will have the Multifunction wheel.

You can order in Germany an A3 without RNS-E and without multifunction steering wheel. The cradle has then two buttons, one is to accept a call and to activate voice control, the other one is to call Audi for help
Once again intersting reading about BT and MMI...

I would agree with having a "D" or "E" is better than having the "C". But what has been reported on motor-talk.de is that the new phone features only work with the newest "C" phone interface. Maybe someone with access to a part catalogue can lookup what the newest revision is?
It have been more easier for me to find the revisions lists for you than being able to identify my phone unit...

I have been trying for a while now and I always get "too many comm errors" on module address #77 using VAG-COM...

Since Ross-Tech knows this problem, but has no fix yet, where can I find such module (the real module, so I can have a look at the sticker at least) ???

This way I would be able to further investigate on differences...

BTW: when I installed 0330 on my 0100 EU RNS-E, it first updated the firmware of the RNS-E itself, then it started rebooting, but almost immediately the MMI image disappeared to show again the firmware upgrading screen...
Do you think this went upgrading something else ??? Any chance of being able discovering what ???

I think I'll try to get a VAG-5052 unit and have a complete car scan... ;-)

Ciao

No, the standard upgrade procedure is 2 stages, so what you saw is normal.
