I just installed a 4B0 035 192 P unit that came to me from Germany with the DVD (a copied version). I managed to damage the DVD and ordered a replacement from Navteq (part #W531247003). For some reason, the unit is not reading the DVD. It keeps asking me to install the disc, even after it is in the machine. My old disc still works, sort of, but freezes up and becomes unreadable eventually but the new disc won't work at all.

Any ideas? Thanks

Did you order the RNS or MMI DVD

I don't know, and don't believe I specified. The unit is an RNS-E unit which uses MMI technology. I guess I don't know the difference?

A3. A4 and A6 use RNS disks

The A8 and the new A6 use MMI disks

They both use MMI technology, but different disks

Navteq part #W531247003 is the correct part number for the current US DVD for the RNS-E.. (though there is supposed to be a new version coming out in September)..

but you have a EU unit (4B0 035 192 P)..

the US DVD will work in an EU unit (SW < or = 140), but it must be modified.. it will not work straight from Navtech..
