Differences between EU and US model adaptation codes

Some other members have posed the idea that the solutions to deactivating the warning screens found on US models but not EU ones, or to activating the Bluetooth telephone features found in EU units but not US ones, could be hidden in the undocumented adaptation channel coding. So, I spent about an hour this evening, and went through all 255 channels in my US unit (EU converted to US) and then did the same with an extra EU one I have waiting to be mailed out.

Here is what I found (displayed in an Excel file for easier reading):

There are in fact many differences. Some seem to simply switched values, some are completely different.

I made extra special care to ensure that both units were coding in similar manners before testing them.

If anyone else would like to do the same thing (seeing the differences between a real US unit and an EU unit converted to US would be interesting, for example), just shoot me an email with the values and I will add them to the spreadsheet and update it on the web.

Thanks.

Updated with some more documented (translated) channel descriptions from Openbd.org.
Cool stuff. I haven't had time to do the full scan but here's some updates:

channel 112: select source - FM:0, AM:1, CD:2, TV:3,SAT:4
channel 118: FM scan up:1, down:2
channel 119: AM scan up:1, down:2

And some numbers I got from my US A4 unit (coded for A4 Bose) with sw 0020 a while ago:

channel - value
16 - 0
17 - 0
64 - 0
97 - 0
99 - 1
112 - 0
115 - 0
116 - 0
117 - 0
118 - 0
119 - 0
123 - 8
125 - 0
129 - 10
130 - 10
135 - 12
136 - 5
137 - 10
138 - 10
139 - 60
