HI all,

The last thing I can't find here is: How can I connect my amplifier to the RNS-E? There are no adapters for sale on ebay?

Thanks,

The signals you need for line level outputs for an amplifier are all available on the Quadlock connector on the RNS-E.

Left Front - C3
Right Front - C9
Left Rear - C5
Right Rear - C11
Signal Ground - C8

Amp Enable - D13

Thanks, I now have becker radio and I also have a connector for the becker which has cinch cables as output which I then connect to my amp.

Do these connectors also fit on the RNS-E? Or do I have to Solder it to the RNS-E?

The RNS-E has a Quadlock connector not cinch cables - so you will have to (carefully) splice onto the wires going to the pins I have listed above.

Hi,

Thanks again.

What do you mean with: amp Enable?

Maybe your answer is the answer to the question I just posted in the forum....

Presumably the connections for a line level connection will also be available on the Bose amp in the trunk...anyone have the pinout to do a line level connection at the Bose amp so I don't have to run anymore wires all the way through the car then I really have to? Besides...it's getting very tight behind the RNS-E in my B5, we don't have as much space to tuck wires as the guys w/B6/B7's do. ;)

i replaced the bose amp and sub with an aftermarket 5 channel amp and stealth sub - i made a connector from audi parts to plug into the bose amp connector in the boot so i didnt have to cut any wires.

i used the existing line output wiring to the bose amp, the existing speaker, the existing amp enable and just added new power lead and earth

i only have the circuit for the a4 b5 avant though so its probably not any help..

just re-read your post - you have a b5...duh!

is it an avant or saloon?

i'll try to dig out the wiring diagram if you like and the part numbers to make a connector for the bose amp end of the leads

ok so a4 b5 saloon bose connections at rear to get line out signals:

these pin numbers are not necessarily at a particular connector, they
are just the amps internal pin numbers.

pin of bose amp / wire colour / signal

8 - green - left rear signal
7 - white - right rear signal
6 - brown - signal ground
10 - grey - left front signal
9 - yellow - right front signal
25 - white - remote on / amp enable

all 0.35mm cables

the larger 2.5mm brown cable to the bose amp is its 0v earth/power line

other wires are:
red/black 2.5mm +12v power
1mm green and 1mm black - front centre speaker
1.5mm blue/yellow and 1.5mm brown/green - front left speakers
1.5mm green/blue and 1.5mm brown/white - front right speakers
1.5mm red/yellow and brown/yellow - rear left speakers
1.5mm red/green and brown/black - rear right speakers
2.5mm red/grey and brown/grey - rear sub
