Hi,

As some of you know I have bought a BT module from Craig (thanks for the speedy delivery).

My dealer is going to install it on wednesday the 22nd of march.

However, I have talked with my car dealer and he doesn't really knew all that much about coding the RNS-E, which struck me as a surprise.

I'll be watching as he installs the BT module and codes my RNS-E.

I just have some final questions so that everything works right away.

1. the BT module is allready coded (no problems there)

2. coding the RNS-E, I think I know how to set the code for this one.

0205715

A3 (11/2005) RNS-E with SDS (voice control), no bose, MFSW, no CD-changer, no TV-tuner, no digital radio or satelite radio.

3. I'll add 2 to function 10 - channel 62 (for DIS to work with BT).

4. I've read something about STG 16 (Steeringelectronics) and changing the last number.

0xxx?:
1 - Radio- and Telefon
2 - Radio
3 - Radio-/Telefon and Speech

Do I have to change this, if so it has to be 3 right?

5. Finally something about the long end coder, it's in Craigs manual but I don't know what that is or what should be changed.

Didn't want to bother Craig anymore with my questions...

You have an A3 and will have to programme the can gateway module 19, using the long coding in VAG or your delers help you need to enable the telephone.

You do not have the programme the cluster adaptation 10 channel 62 as it doesn't exist on an A3, it's all done from the can gateway module.

Ok,

So I code the RNS-E using:

STG 56 (Navigation System) -> Coding -> Function 07

How about STG 16 (Steeringelectronics) and changing the last number?

And then module 19 (my car dealer will know what that is, hopefully :? )

Thx again Craig!

My bluetooth telephone interface box has been installed today and everything is working great.

I bought a Sony Ericsson k750i and it pairs perfectly.

I have all the functions, missed calls, dialed calls, phonebook, ...

Voice recognition (SDS) is also working very well. \:D/

Big thanks to Craig for BT equipment and to all the guys here who helped and gave advice.

Great forum!

Congratualations. One correction though:

Voice Recognition/Control does not equal SDS. SDS describes a feature of the HIGH RNS-E where you can control the RNS-E (radio, navi, cd changer) via voice - in addition to the phone. With a BASIC RNS-E you can use voice control only for the phone functions and that's not SDS.

Oops, sorry!

I have adjusted my signature.

Thx for clarifying that...
