Can the BNS Nav use CD-Rs?

I have the older BNS nav in my 02 S6, and the CD for my region is scratched beyond repair. Navteq wants $130(!) for a new CD (just one, not even the whole ten pack). I'm planning to upgrade to the RNS-E this winter, so I'm loathe to pay so much for something I'll only use sporadically for a few months.

Does anyone know if the BNS can play CD-R disks, and second, if the CDs can be copied, would anyone be willing to help me out with getting a copy? (I just need Map 7: Mew England)
