does it have to be from Windows Media Player?

i have Itunes on both my Mac and Windows systems with almost identical playlists ( have not updated in a while)

I am wondering of I can do this from Itunes or if I have to do it from Windows?

If I do have to transfer from Windows, does anyone know how to transfer my library from Itunes to Windows Media Player...

thanks

As long as their in mp3 format you can transfer them from anywhere you like that can read and write to the SD cards.

OK, NOW I am confused. I started from scratch.

I formatted the 1 GIG San Disk SD card to FAT 32

I then ripped a CD into Windows media player making sure that it was being ripped MP3.

I then created a Playlist with above CD and hit "SYNC". Each track then says (converting) then (copying) I put card in the car and NOTHING!

it says 968 MB of unkown files on the NAV + Screen....blah!

4 hours I have invested in this( not to mention $200+)

HELP!

Jon

edit: I just hooked up the device to my mac and the folder with the songs shows up and they all say .WMA after them....

WHY is windows CONVERTING THEM from MP3 to WMA files and how the H*** do I stop it?

i use iTunes with no problems.. but i have not dont much with playlists..

1st of all, start small.. just try a few songs to make sure you have the right format.. the RNS-E will not read anything but *.mp3.. music you purchase from itunes will be *.m4p, this will not work.. *.wma will not work either..

if you ripped your CD with itunes into ACC, itunes can convert them to *.mp3 (under the advanced menu)..

what i mostly do is drag the artist or album folders from my itunes music library to the SD card..

you can also drag songs directly from the itunes window to the SD card..

there is a good write-up on creating playlist somewhere on here, all i know is they must be *.m3u..

good luck..

It's an option in Windows Media Player. You can select WMA or MP3. Change that option to MP3 and re-rip the CD.
Thanks,

I found that option in Windows Media Player. I ripped a new CD MP3 and when I went to Sync it with the card it coverted it as I stated above to WMA file...

I did convert some files in Itunes last night to MP3 by right clicking on the song in ITunes and then dragged and dropped the files from its folder in Windows Explorer to The card and VOILA...

IT works!

so for now I will just have to keep doing this until I figure something else out....

thanks
