Depends on the car...brightnes in RNS-E is adjusted in two ways...in setup screen and by autodimmer. With setup screen you can do it manually, but autodimmer is adjusting brightness depends on outside conditions. Mine is adjausting brightness every time I enter tunnels, bridges etc.

If you can't change it it is very possible that some wiring is missing or incorrect. I'm not completely sure if necessary signal is carried via CAN-BUS or other way but I think it will be hard to change anyway.

Hello!

The brightness is not possible to change if you are using can bus adapter. I have same problem. The dimming function is controlled via can bus communication and can bus adapter is getting only infomation from general illumination that is controlled by potentiometer ( voltage level). So when you dimm the illumination the voltage drops in wire that you have connected to your can bus adapter, but this has no effect in RNS-E, because can bus adapter undetstand only on/off signal. It is not "smart" enough to translate changing input to can bus message. It think whoever made the adapter did not bother to support this... less work more money :)
Maybe we could put forces together and ask updated adapter for markets.
I think they could include DIS funtion ( CAN->old dis serial comm) and Dimming fuction and why not add Video input thing also in same machine.
I really dont see the point having ten different adapter etc. when you could just build one that does everythig. I would buy one for sure.
So if anyone who knows someone who makes these adapter, put the word
forward.
