Fellow Audi Enthusiasts,
My 2017 Audi TTS had 35,000 miles. The brake pads are worn and need replacement. The dealer says I have high performance brakes on my TTS and would need to have both rotors and pads be replaced. Is this accurate? Or can I just replace pads, keep the rotors and bed the pads to the rotors? In fact, I have always had this question - should replacing brake pads always be done together with either replacing rotors or turning the rotors (if thickness allows). Can you informed enthusiasts answer this for me once and for all?

If the rotor has a pronounced lip at the edge or heavy scoring they may need to be replaced. Rotors have a minimum thickness so you need to measure them and compare that against specifications. I would be surprised if they need replacing at 35k unless the car was driven very hard.
