I checked the parts list for this part number:
4b1-862-373
I have a 00 a6, and pulled the light apart in the roof, and found that microphone in there.
Am I able to use this for bluetooth?

I think that is for the telephone system from the factory.

I am pretty sure that you will need part #8L1 862 373A.

But maybe give it a try you never know.

If it works good let the rest of us know :D

Another question, there seems to be a spot up there for a second microphone, what would be the purpose of that, and has anyone tried it?

Also, which of the below is the best bluetooth module to get for a 00 a6 with the rns-e? I plan on using NSX JR's guide to use the old phone wiring..
8P0 862 335 B MY 2006 A3/A4 (US)
8P0 862 335 F MY 2006.5 A3/A4 (Europe)
8P0 862 335 G MY 2006.5 A4 (US)
8P0 862 335 H MY 2007.5 A3/A4 (Europe)
8P0 862 335 J MY 2007 A4 (US)
8P0 862 335 M MY 2007 A3/A4 (Europe)

I was kind of hoping for a sexy british sounding girl :) Also - are there any feature differences between the above?

For British English you need the F, H or M versions.

I'd go for the H version since it's the newest firmware, if you can't that then get an M and if you can't get that get an F.

All of them will support full integration with the RNS-E, but the newer versions may support more models of phone.

It's a placement option for the first (and only) mic. For US/EU cars the mic will be on the left spot, for GB/JP cars on the right. So always heading to the driver.

term - that's smart, that makes sense.
PetrolDave - It seems the only one I can get my hands on easily is the G for around $409 - Is there anyway to flash the firmware of the bluetooth boxes?

Other than the voice, is there anything different about the H module? regarding functionality or setup? Other than the sexy voice that follows yu? :)

The H version is the newest Euro unit. You cannot code it for USA English. The "J" version is the newest USA unit. You cannot code it for anything other than USA English.
