Battery disconnection

Hello

Should the battery be dsconnected before undertaking an RNS-E upgrade,
CANBUS rewiring (upgradng from Nav+ with TMC to RNS-E) etc.

Will there be any issues (VAG COM requirement) when you reconnect the battery?

Thanks

Not the recommended approach but I didn't connect the battery when installing/removing my unit. Just made sure that the ignition key was removed.

It's to early to type  Yes, I meant I did not disconnect the battery while installing the unit. Some said that some controllers may reset if the battery stays disconnected to long. Also, if you have OnStar/Telematics you must prepare it before disconnecting the battery.
You should most certainly disconnect the battery if you intend to use the sharkfin gps antenna as in the process you will be staring the side curtain airbags in the face.
Agreed, definitely disconnect the battery if you do anything else but removing the old radio and plugging in the RNS-E. In my case I put the GPS antenna behind the instrument cluster after removing the trim below the steering wheel.
