Audi TEL microphone

How much was it?

I bought it from Germany for around $100

I expected that this module was one integrated piece that would replace the interior current light module.
I'm curious if there are any serious improvements over 3rd party mike's. And also how easy it is to install it.

It's hard to install it since BT cable part for mic is pretty showr and mic cable is just few inches. I will use some extension I guess.

For $170 mic (that's what stealership asked) I would expect some solid ready to plug product. I guess I'm dreaming :roll:

I think the blame lies with Kufatec. They clearly knew how long the cord on the OEM Mic was.

Thanks God I had existing mic from my Parrot setup so I will cut it out and solder new mic in place.

I know that audi have OEM mic cover but I don't want to play with that anymore

I will try to install it in the same spot where Infotainment package normally have microphone

I wonder if the pillar is better accoustically.

Do you have the part number for that cover? I don't have that on my car.

AFAIK they don't use the pillar anymore since they put airbags there. In recent models it's always in the interiour lights.

I didn't think there were airbags in the pillars. On my Wife's Passat the pillars are labeled with an Airbag emblem, and on my S4 there is no such label.
