Does anyone know something about OEM Audi kit?

It's kind of wierd...I tought BT system will pair with existing cellphone.
Is there a way to insert SIM in this phone....just curious how it works?

Yes, there is a SIM slot in the cradle of this phone kit, you can use a dual SIM system or it also does bluetooth.

So when I'm going to get another sim with my phone # I can slide it in and RNS-E will display Caller ID and SIM phone book? Is my thinking correct?

I could be way off on this but I thought I read a thread somewhere that stated the new units use either an obscure protcol of fiberoptics for communications for some of it's systems. I didn't think it was possible to install the bluetooth unit into a different model.

Like I said I could be way off. I think someone had one on their bench now trying to get it in. Paul Waterloo I think.

You mean "MOST". Well I can't see any connectors for the MOST system on the RNS-E, the only one you can find is the single pin for MOST RING BROKEN whatever that is. So I cant see any fibre cables either, I think that was purely for the A8.

For what the phone kits is cost me £68, I think it's worth a try.

MOST rings a bell. Your right though 68 pounds, it is a small investment for the chance it may work. I just spent over 100 for the Audi install kit and I don't even know if my phone can be made to adapt to it.

I'll know tomorrow when it comes in and I can take a look at it

I didn't actually order the system I ordered the factory install kit that is used for the in car phone in 2000. It included the centre consol mount and the rear antenna kit (which I will be selling).

I'm going to be ordering the Parrot CK3100 and using the factory wiring in the trunk to install it. This way I can use the factory mic (with some modifications), the factory speaker and integrate the radio all in one shot. I have a Motorola V710 with Bluetooth and Motorola makes a cradle for it.

I'll mount the cradle in the centre consol on the Audi flip out holder and use it's external antenna to go to the bumper antenna you get from Audi.

Does anyone have any part number breakdowns?

Or is everyone still trying to get it to work?

Well I went with the Parrot CK3100. Still working on it though. I will intergrate with the fatory wiring though. Not expecting any problems there. If your looking for part numbers email me off list.

My old Parrot CK3000 works fine.
It doesn't show PHONE icons but it mutes the audio when phone is ringing.

Can somebody explain how the Parrot kits are installed? I haven't been able to find any specific information on the web. Does the thing really integrate with the RNS-E for muting? I have an 05 A4 cab with RNS-E.
