Add another to the RNS-E conversion to the US!

I updated the software, and now my US DVD maps are in a working good! I don't mind the disclaimer at the startup, its something to get used to.

By the way when after the update of the software, the RNS-E restarted, came back on and asked for my security code. I put it in correctly and the RNS-E would flash to the disclaimer and then right back to the security code! I thought ohh, no what the hell is happening. I mean I must have tried to input the code at least 30 times. And yes I know you normally can't input more than like 3 times and then you'll have to wait like 10 minutes with the ignition on and then try again.

So what I did was let the unit sit with the ignition on for like 15-20 minutes. I came back outside and entered my security code "very slowly" making "sure" I clicked the correct numbers and bam, it accepted it. I don't understand why it did that. I just want anyone else who runs into this to know it was scary but it did work out.

Now I have couple questions about programming the RNS-E thru VAG. When your in controller 56, adaption 10, channel 001 (Tires). I have 235/35/19 and in that channel I have a stored code of 1987. Is that correct?

In the same adaption above but channel 136, I have a stored value of 10. I thought it needed to be 00005 left hand drive USA?

A couple more things:

1) I noticed this before the software update to the US Maps. On the RNS-E the date is wrong but the time is correct. And my date is correct on the instrument cluster. The RNS-E is set to display the time from the instrument cluster what about the date?

2) During operation of the Navigation. How to you change, if possible what's in the "Top Categories" section?

That it for now, so I guess I'll start looking for a OEM Sirius Satellite Tuner and cables that I'm gonna need.

According to openobd.de the expected values in channel 136 are
  • 00005 - Left steering wheel (USA)
  • 00013 - Right steering wheel (USA)
  • 02632 - Right steering wheel (Europe)
  • 03226 - Left steering wheel (Europe)
