Just an idle curiosity question I've puzzled about during 8+ years of ownership - my door windows I understand must slightly open (by about 1 cm) when I open the doors to enter or exit, if the windows are fully closed. This is to get past the rubber weatherstripping. The mysterious thing is when the windows are fully open, whether the car is parked or driving, if I open a door, that door's window will come UP by about 1 cm out of the door, then go back down again when the door is closed. What's the point of this? I've never been able to understand it. (and also, why does lowering the top automatically raise all four windows, but not raising the top?? I'd at least like a selectable option to get the windows to behave the way I usually use them. I got a convertible to enjoy fresh air so when I lower the top I lower the windows almost always. And I raise the top usually either because I'm parking or because the weather turned rotten)
