my car is an A5 2.0T Quattro 8AT gasoline US model, so my data (since mile 0 brand new in 2014) is in miles per US gallon. (Divide L/100km into 235.2 to get US mi/gal). But my point still applies - there is a huge variation in fuel consumption depending on driving patterns, even for a healthy car always in excellent running condition. The yellow line on my plot is a running average of ten tanks of fuel at once. Notable observations of my car's history - 1) I retired from my job in July 2016, and stopped doing a daily 50 mile round trip to work. 2) the tall upward spikes are all long highway trips of more than 1,000 miles. May 2015 was Seattle-Wash DC round trip, 7,000 miles 3) all my driving during the pandemic has been quite short trips. The car now has 70,000 miles.
