Hey guys, I've been lurking around this forum and the audinav mailing list for a few months now, and thanks to all of you I've made the leap and bought and installed my own RNS-e. I have a B6 S4, so the installation was extremely simple. If anyone needs pictures of anything, feel free to contact me and I will post them. Honestly, to anybody who is unsure if you're ready to do this install, From experience I've owned 4 different navigations:
Stock Mercedes, and Infiniti, and an Aftermarket Kenwood Touch Screen. My forth is the RNS-e. This unit BLOWS away the competition, not only in the navigation, but in the graphics as well. It truely is the ultimate uplift for any Audi.

On that note, I would like to give special thanks to PROXUS, he's an active member of this board, and he is the person I purchased the unit from. Not only did he sell me a perfect unit with all the trimmings, but he went as far as to give me his cell phone number to calm my nerves about the transaction, and even answer questions for me during the install when I was unsure. If you're interested, please contact him, I guarantee he'll leave little if anything to be desired.

Once again, if anybody needs any type of help or support, I'm no expert, but I can surely help with installs like my own. This upgrade was WELL WORTH IT. Thanks to everyone who made this board possible.

Did you update the firmware and modify the DVD disk yourself? Or was that already done when you received the unit?

That is the only part that scares me. Not only have I never messed with modifying a disk, which I have no idea how to do or where to start, but I also don't have a dual layer DVD burner.

Unless I can get a unit that is pre modified and a pre modified disk, then I'll probably have to go with a US version RNS E.

Proxus provided both the original US disc and he already made a modified copy. The unit was totally plug 'n play for me, no work required. He even updated the unit to the 0100 firmware version which stops that "Missing Streets" syndrome. You sound like you are just like me, he's definitly the person to buy from, and I"m more then happy to help u get it going.
