Well today for whatever friggen reason I decide to put in a 0360 disc into my 0100 Nav+ which I thought was US.

I put it in there thinking it was just a patched DVD which I was told would work in US on new 0360 s/w RNS-E units.

As you can imagine moment I put it into the drive it started to download latest 0360 s/w. Shit... Well I didn't mean to do that however since this was suppose to be the patch US 0360 disc I didnt worry.

Well come to find out this was a Euro DVD map and I am happy to report that my RNS-E is now useless as far as the navigation aspect goes. Great timing as I was planning on helping lead a huge NE drive we have Sunday.

So with this said, since I thought this was patched US disc for 0360, are we any closer to patching a US DVD map for 0360?

I am so effin' pissed!

For that you need to wait untill 2005 US DVD will be released. (from what I heard from NAVTEQ it will be in 2-3 weeks). This way we will have full comparison of what is added to US and what to EU disk.

You can also try to find post about reversing software on EU unit.
I believe I saw something like that on this forum. I could be wrong tho.

Personally I'm working on flashing unit to production stage and loading software to blank EEPROM. Few smart guys from EU helping me in that matter but it's a veeery slow and painful process
So once we have the new US Map '05 can we then just create a patch with same files from '04 patched US disc?
Geting the US DVD working in a 0360 unit is independent from getting the 0040 software update for the flashed to US 0020 Euro units. Someone with a "D" RNS-E and the US DVD should be able to figure out a way to get the DVD working. If I ever fix my Euro unit I will give it a try but right now it's not wanting to go back to Europe
Well besides the "C" labeling on my metal casing I now have a D unit. To my understanding I just need to wait until US 2005 DVD from NavTeq is released and work on a patch for the 0360.

I don't think it makes any difference which US DVD you use. The question is which values to use to make the DVD accepted by the Euro 0360 software.

PROXUS made note of this though
