I am looking at a 2003 allroad with factory NAV (the one in the instrument panel). Does the factory NAV make it harder or easier to install the RND-E or not make any difference?
Thanks

No difference....the only easy thing about it is that your instrument cluster is already coded.

To install RNS-E you need to disconnect old nav unit in the trunk and proceed with usual RNS-E install

If you have onstar you will need to connect a jumper in the trunk when you disconnect your nav drive. Otherwise, you won't hear the onstar audio when you need it.
